FAQ

Small business website design questions, answered plainly.

Common questions from small business owners about websites, hosting, SEO, social media and ongoing support.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Social media is useful, but it should not be your only online presence. A small business website gives your business a professional home online, helps with Google visibility and gives customers a clear place to learn about your services and contact you. Facebook is great for visibility. Your website is better for trust, search and long-term control.

A website that is good for SEO has clear page titles, proper headings, helpful content, fast loading speeds, mobile-friendly layout and a structure that search engines can follow easily. It also has dedicated pages for each of your services and locations, instead of trying to cram everything onto one page. We build all of this into every small business website we create, and we offer a dedicated SEO setup service if you need to go further.

Custom websites usually take 2 to 4 weeks to complete, depending on the scope of the project and how quickly we receive your content like text and photos. Our Launch Kit can go live in about 7 days once your content is in hand. Larger sites with more pages or custom features may take longer, and we give you a clear timeline at the start so you know what to expect.

Yes. Many small business owners do not have time to write their own website content, and that is fine. We can write SEO-focused service pages, location pages, about pages and homepages based on a short conversation about your business. You review everything before it goes live.

Yes. We offer website hosting for small businesses with SSL, performance optimization and AWS-backed infrastructure for many of our builds. Hosting can be included with a new website project or set up separately if you already have a site you want to move over.

SSL is what turns your website address from http into https. It encrypts the connection between your website and your visitors, which keeps their information safer and helps your site look more trustworthy. Google also uses SSL as a ranking signal, so every modern website should have it. SSL is included with our hosting.

Yes. Google Business Profile setup is one of the highest-impact things a small business can do for local visibility. We help with profile setup, optimization and ongoing posts as part of our SEO setup and social media management services.

Yes. We offer social media management for small businesses: branded graphics, captions, content planning and Google Business Profile updates designed to work alongside your website. Most clients pair social media management with hosting and content updates so everything stays consistent.

Yes. We are not a build-it-and-disappear shop. After launch, we are available for content changes, new pages, technical updates and improvements. Many clients keep us on for ongoing support so they always have a person to call when something needs attention.

Yes. We are based in Nova Scotia and work with small businesses around the world. Most of our work is done remotely, with calls and email keeping things moving. Location is not a barrier.

That is completely normal, and it is what the free consultation is for. Tell us about your business and what you would like to build or improve online. We will recommend the small business website package that gets you the most value, or put together a custom plan if none of the standard ones fits.

Every website build is quoted up front based on the pages and features your business needs. Our Creative Kits are flat-rate, one-time fees, and the Starter, Local Growth and Authority plans are quoted the same way. Website hosting is a simple monthly rate, domain registration is billed at cost, and ongoing 1-on-1 support is billed hourly, so you only pay for the help you use. No surprise charges.

Yes. You own your domain, your content and your website files. If you ever decide to move to another provider or designer, everything goes with you and we help make the handover smooth. No lock-in.

You can cancel whenever you need to. Just tell us by email and we will help you wind things down or move your site somewhere else. Because you own your domain, content and files, leaving is straightforward. We would rather earn your business every month than lock you into it.
